The roots of spam poetry are planted in the flarf and cut-up movement. Spam poetry is created mainly from the subject lines of spam or junk email messages. At times, the random strings of text form interesting or comical messages. It is the haphazard nature of spam messages, the pure chance of combination that makes spam poetry unique and challenging.

Vértice 1925 is proud to issue the first book compiling the works of spam poetry authors from around the globe. Our first book shipped on May 9th and to celebrate, we're offering a free copy of Spot Magazine (courtesy of our friends at the Houston Center for Photography) with each order while supplies last.

Morton Hurley, editor of the Anthology of Spam Poetry web site, has compiled the first sixty spoems from his site along with a foreword by K. Silem Mohammad and an essay on the history behind the Anthology project. We should also mention that Tony Millionaire drew the cover!
